2019 Job Shadowing Day

“If you can DREAM it, you can DO it.” – Walt Disney

In continued celebration of CTAE Month, students from across Richmond County were able to spend a day job shadowing in a variety of careers. Local businesses from throughout the CSRA were able to provide students with real-world experiences. Some CTAE students spent the day job shadowing in car dealerships; others learned more about the beauty industry; while some pitched potential stories with news stations, gained insight into the radio business, and shadowed workers in the healthcare industry. Several other partners also allowed our students to observe the daily tasks of multiple professions.

A special thank you is given to all of the businesses that continue to provide amazing opportunities and support to our students.  Thank you for helping us ensure that our students are college/career ready!

The Season of Giving

Tis’ the season of giving!

We want to start by saying thanks to the students from The Academy of Richmond County and the Richmond County Technical Career Magnet School who spent their afternoon providing meals for families at the Ronald McDonald House.

The Richmond County School System is also very thankful for the many businesses and organizations that have contributed to our students; we appreciate you!

Special thanks to LifeWay Book Store for providing stuffed animals for all students at Sue Reynolds; Fort Gordon soldiers who provided tons of toys for students at Hornsby Elementary School; A Few Good Men and Women who provided bikes to students with the highest i-Ready math and reading scores; and lastly, thanks to the local Publix stores for providing all students in the Special Education program at A.
