There’s no better way to spend an afternoon. Through an innovative dog therapy program, students at Langford Middle School are showing improvements in behaviors. Lego, the Aussiedoodle, is a certified therapy dog; he is trained to help people who have anxiety, autism, and/or emotional behavior disorders. The program started about 4 months ago, and the benefits have been remarkable. Mr. Cunningham, a special education teacher at Langford, attributes the therapy to calming the students and giving them confidence. The school is hoping to expand the program to serve even more students.
