Richmond County School System Police Toy Giveaway

In order to give back to the community, and in an effort to improve relationships between young people and the police, officers from the RCSS School Safety and Security Department bought toys and distributed them to classes at Barton Chapel Elementary. The top students, one boy and one girl, in each class received bicycles to acknowledge their commitment to high academic achievement. Chief Reginald Wade said, “Barton Chapel is close to my heart and I am pleased our officers chose the school to be the recipient of these toys.” Next year, they plan to expand the program to include more classes and to reach more students.
