Richmond County School System Students Compete in Paper Plane Contest
Augusta Regional Airport partnered with Augusta Aviation-Daniel Field and the Richmond County School System (RCSS) this weekend to host a paper plane contest to promote student interest in aviation. Students participating created a series of paper planes and competed for furthest distance, time aloft, and most unique paper plane, while learning the cause and effects of engineering and piloting.
Students from C.T. Walker Traditional Magnet, Davidson Fine Arts Magnet, Hephzibah Middle, T.W. Josey High, and the Richmond County Technical Career Magnet created teams to compete for the grand prize. Hephzibah Middle won the contest with their paper plane flying over seventy-five feet, receiving a trophy and a flight over Augusta. Congratulations to all Richmond County teams for their outstanding paper planes!
